'Diet swap' shows how Westernization may raise colon cancer risks

‎Rates of colon cancer are much higher in African-Americans than in rural South Africans. Now, a new study suggests a difference in diet may be a factor. Researchers found when ‎African-Americans and rural Africans swapped diet for 2 ‎weeks, there was a similar exchange in their risks of colon cancer.  Colon or colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the world, with nearly 1.4 million new cases diagnosed in 2012.
