Barren Woman Attacks Husband with Acid in Ibadan (Photo)

"THE woman who gave me a substance told me that it was a charm meant to endear my husband to me. I never knew that what she gave me was acid. All I was trying to do was to keep my husband's love so that he would not think of leaving me, because I know that my marriage with any other man would not endure because of my barrenness These were that words of Remi Agunbiade (38), a resident of Ita Barika, Foko area of Ibadan, Oyo State, after she was arrested by the policemen from Iyaganku Division over an alleged attempt to kill her husband, one Olawale Shola, by pouring acid on him on January 27, 2016. ‎The incident occurred less than 24 hours after a similar happening at Oje area of Ibadan where a man allegedly poured a bottle of acid on the mother of his two kids for reasons best known to him. But the ‎difference is that while the Oje suspect ran away after committing the act, the Foko victim, Shola prevented his assailant from escaping as he ran after her and held her until neig

"Real Reasons I Conceded to Buhari" — Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has spoken of the tensed moment he faced on March 28, 2015 ahead of his decision to concede victory to President Muhammadu Buhari after that year's presidential election. He also narrated why he relinquished power to Buhari, saying he did not want Nigeria to slide into a theatre of war, with his fellow county men and woman dying, and many more pouring into other nations in Africa and beyond, as refugees. GEJ said: "I never knew that the human brain had the capacity for such enhanced rapid thinking. One hundred and one things were going through my mind every second. My country was  at the verge of collapse. The tension in the land was abysmally high and palpable, in the months leading to the election. The country became more polarised more than ever before, such that the gap between the North and the South and between Christians and Muslims became quite pronounced.  In fact, it became so disturbing that some interest groups in the United State

Please Help Me: Confused Husband Cries For Help After Doing Something Bad To His Lovely Wife

Husband said he's hurt his wife and he doesn't want her to use the opportunity to turn against him... My wife I and have been married for five years now. All this while I never hit her, no matter what happens, but I don't know what came over me, I hit a few weeks ago and can't forgive myself. We were involved in a heated argument and though I had never seen her react the way she did, all of a sudden I lost my temper and slapped her in the face and used some terrific words against her; since then she has asked for some space.  I would never hurt her, she is the best thing that ever happened to me and I love her and can't live without her. She said she has forgiven me but I can tell by her looks that she has lost some love for me...  This hurts me the most. How can I make this up to her? I told her that this would never happen again, that I was sorry and loved her with all my heart. She said she loves me and was not going to leave me but she needed some space. Please

See why Men Should Marry a Working Lady

This article focuses on why you should marry a lady who is working. It doesn't mean I am against dating a lady still studying in school, but am against dating a lady that still thinks as she is in school. The climax of this article is that dating a working class lady has much more advantage than dating an undergrad. Why? Below are my reasons: 1. Better At Managing Money  Dating a working class lady is so good because she knows and feels the condition of the economy. When she spends, she does it with sense and not like ladies who don't know that making cash is hard and spends anyhow. With this kind of lady, you don't need to worry about the way your finance is being spent. 2. Maturity  Going through work stress builds up maturity in her. Even though girls have a general nature; there is still a difference you will see between a working lady and an undergrad. Matured ladies are mostly needed for dating and not just ladies that begs for recharge cards all the ti

Photo: Woman delivers baby from four-year-old pregnancy in Ogun

33-year-old Oluwabunmi and her 42-year-old husband, Bankole Ogidan both pictured above, welcomed their first child at a hospital in Ogun state on Wednesday January 27th from a pregnancy she reportedly carried for four years. Narrating the unusual experience to The Nation, Bankole who has been married to Oluwabunmi since August 2011 said "We were full of hope about having children and raising a complete family. But we had to wait till August 2013 before she got pregnant exactly two years after. We went for pregnancy test and it was confirmed positive. A few days after, my wife complained that she was feeling pains in her womb. We went to a midwife who told us that the pain was not a problem; that the pregnancy was intact. I was not satisfied, so I took her to another hospital (name withheld) where we did a scan but the doctor said he didn't see any pregnancy. The doctor said there had been a miscarriage. I asked him that shouldn't there be an outflow of bloo

Kanu Nwankwo meets his former coach, Arsene Wenger during signing of 2 Nigerian players

The footballer met with his former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger in London during the signing of two new players, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, to the UK club. The two youngsters were part of the Nigerian team that won the Under-17 World Cup in November last year. If I am correct, they will be the first Nigerians, since Kanu, to sign with Arsenal. Congrats to them. Photo credit: Collin Udoh/Amara Kanu‎

Laura Lifshitz Wrote "10 Relationship Mistakes I Made In My 20s That I Know Never To Make Again"

As I near the end of my 30s, I've been doing a lot of thinking about my  relationship mistakes , especially as I finalize my divorce. Mistakes are meant to happen but if you don't learn from them, you'll never grow or get what you're looking for.‎ For me, I benefit the most when I share the life lessons I learned the hard way with the hopes that someone can steal a gem from the mistakes I made and choose a better path. In the two years since I've been separated from my former husband, I've also promised myself that I will never go through a divorce again, nor will I commit to the wrong person again. These are some of the relationship mistakes I made in my 20s that set the bar too low for me. And I will NEVER repeat them again. 1. I ignored the nice guys. Women ignore the nice guys when they feel bad about themselves. When you feel bad about yourself, you pick people who continue to validate those bad feelings about yourself. I'm not saying I will

5 Reasons Why Every Woman Should Argue With Her Boyfriend

1. To stop him from getting complacent Sometimes, men can be difficult. Actually, allow me to rephrase: Usually, men are difficult. And we're especially tough to deal with after the courting phase is over. When we were still trying to sleep with you for the first time, we would never leave the toilet seat down, or make up excuses to justify a crazy night out with the boys, or claim that we're too busy to check in. Challenge your boyfriend to remind him that you're worth ongoing effort and that he can never   get complacent in the relationship if he wants to be with you. 2. To have great make-up sex. After a heated argument, he inches a little closer to put his arm around you. He says, "I'm sorry." You might still hate him, but it doesn't matter. You're well positioned for great makeup sex. Once you both realize just how primed things are for a passionate romp between the sheets, you strip each other's clothes off immediately. Your orgasm

I respect Obasanjo but he introduced bribery to the national assembly - Dino Melaye

‎ Sen. Dino Melaye says he respects former President Olusegun Obasanjo but called him out for allegedly introducing bribery to the National Assembly. According to a report by TheCable, Dino said this while reacting to the letter Obasanjo sent to members of the Senate on January 13th where he berated them over their plans to buy more cars. He said; "I have tremendous respect for president Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo. Elder statesman, respected pan Africanist and committed patriot. I went through the letter written to all senators and members of the house of representatives. The letter I can see is a misplacement of anger," he said. "Our leader is mistaking the eighth national assembly as the same senate assembly that defrauded him in 2007. Those who collected his money and refused to implement the 3rd term agenda. I appeal to baba that we are not the ones please. After nine years of that bribery saga, the first of its kind, I expect forgiveness to have take

Dad arrested for taking daughter’s phone as punishment

‎ When Ronald Jackson found a text he thought was rude and inappropriate on his then-12-year-old daughter's phone in September 2013, he took the cell away. But the child's mother, Michelle Steppe, got mad at his action and she called the police. WFAA reported that the 36-year-old, who hails from Grande Prairie, Texas, had been charged with theft of property of at least $50 but under $500 after confiscating his daughter's iPhone 4 when he found an inappropriate text in September 2013. Shortly thereafter, Jackson recieved a citation for the "theft," a Class C misdemeanor. Jackson was then offered a plea deal in January 2014 if he returned the phone, attained legal representation, and requested a jury trial. That's when the city attorney's office refiled the case with a harsher offense, a Class B misdemeanor, punishable to up to  six  months in jail and a $2,000 fine. After a warrant was placed on him, Jackson was arrested and taken into

The people of Ugwuaji Area in Enugu were in complete bafflement when dead bodies, buried in shallow graves were discovered in the foundation of a church building, Dailypost reports. The corpses were reportedly buried in the foundation of a church building which was still under construction. The construction of the building, whose owner is still unknown, began recently and builders were in process of laying foundation when one of the building workers found the bodies. Lassa Fever: 4,400 Rats Killed In 6 Lagos Markets Alone

The Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), Lagos State chapter, on Monday, said that it killed no fewer than 4,400 rats at six major markets in the state under its de-rat market programme. Its president, Mr Samuel Akingbehin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that his association carried out the exercise at Onigongbo, Oshodi, Oke-Odo, Ikotun Idanwo, Ojuwoye and Mile 12 markets. He said that de-rating the markets was part of the association's efforts to curb the spread of Lassa fever in the state. "The exercise is strategic in our efforts toward the prevention of communicable diseases," he said. Akingbehin appealed to traders from across the state to show an understanding towards the efforts of the association to rid the markets of rats and rodents. He said that the plan was to de-rat markets in one local government area per day starting from 5.00 p.m. The association decided on this time to allow traders and buyers transact their

CHECKOUT 7 SURE WAYS TO KNOW IF YOUR BOYFRIEND WILL BE RICH IN FUTURE!!!

Not every guy's a member of the lucky sperm club. But just because your boyfriend isn't a scion of a wealthy family doesn't mean you're never going to marry a rich man. Don't be discouraged if the guy you are currently dating is nothing more than a penny stock. The market bears no memories. He might very well be poor only for now. Then again, how can you tell? Of course not every penny stock is worth investing in. Some are simply hopeless and will never hit it big. Some are purely millionaires in the making. To spare you from waking up one morning realizing you've invested your time, effort and youth for nothing, here's the rule of thumb I've used to sift out good penny stocks. 1. He knows he is good at something.
Knowing his worth is usually the first step towards wealth creation. Baby-sitting, baking, gardening or whatever so long as he recognizes that the skills he honed are exchangeable for money. 2. He is self-disciplined.
He has t

See the Rat that Causes Lassa Fever (Photos)

The spread of Lassa fever in Nigeria has necessitated a need to enlighten the general public about means of identifying the pest carrying the virus which is detrimental to human health. Multimammate rat The name of the rat that possesses and spreads the virus that causes lassa fever is called Multimammate rat (because it has many titss like all these local street dogs after delivery), while the botanical name is Mastomys Natalensis. There is also an upsurge of the disease everywhere. So we should all practice hand washing hygiene. Also all apple lovers should wash them with salt and warm water before refrigerating them to eat. Our wives should avoid testing of dry garri by chewing them for starch in the market. All garri soakers should let go for now. The problem is that most of our garri sellers in the market buy their garri from bush markets. These garri are often fried half dry and are subsequently dried on polythene sheets on the tarred roads or compounds i

Nurses and Patients flee as Lassa fever kills Two at a Federal Medical centre

Tension over Lassa fever outbreak has continued to unsettled patients at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Asaba, Delta State, following the death of two patients within four days. While many of the patients and nurses have fled the hospital for fear of the unknown, no fewer than over 55 persons have been reportedly killed across the country in the last few weeks of its outbreak. Health workers at FMC struggle to remove bodies of the two patients who died of Lassa Fever. The two victims, hospital sources said died two days interval after being managed for a week plus but the State Health Commissioner, Dr. Nicholas Azinge who refused to confirm the incident, said "I know some persons have died, I cannot speak further on that because the Federal Ministry of Health is already doing something to sensitize the people and we in Delta State are also sensitising our people". With twenty-two patients quarantined at present at the hospital, further investigation
