As pointed out in a report from Screen Rant "Avatar2" was planned to begin filming by spring of this year, which may indicate that the only reason the film was pushed back from its designated December 2017 release date was to avoid direct competition with "Star Wars: EpisodeVIII"
It is confirmed that some cast members will be returning in the likes of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver.
"Blade Runner 2" and "Transformers 5" are slated to be scheduled roughly the same time, while "Ghost in the Shell" and "Fifty Shades Darker" begins production this month.
