JAMB New Rules For 2016/2017 Admission Seekers

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB modified the registration procedure for students seeking admission for the 2016/2017 academic session. ‎The modification according to JAMB, will lessen competition among candidates seeking placement to the nation's "oversubscribed" universities. According to Dr Fabian Benjamin, the chief information officer of the board, JAMB has introduced "preferred choice" platform in its portal. This new addition will enable candidates have wider opportunities of securing admission.‎"What we did initially was that you only have one choice. Now, we have made it in such a way that if you miss the University of Lagos; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira, you will have an opportunity of going to another school. Abacha’s loot is too huge for us to handle – World Bank

The World Bank has asked for more time to provide a detailed report on the loot of former military dictator, Sani Abacha, saying the loot is too huge for it to handle. The World Bank said this in response to a request by civil society group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) asking for a comprehensive document detailing all the loots of the former military dictator which is estimated at $11.3 billion and stashed in foreign banks. "In response to your request, we would like to inform you that we are still considering your request and we will need additional time because the money involved is too huge for us to handle." World bank says The World Bank added that although it takes just 20 working days to respond to such requests, under special cases, it could take longer time.
